No-exam life insurance
Which applicants qualify, how the streamlined process operates, and what happens if you do not.
Several carriers have adopted rapid underwriting, where applicants who meet certain age and coverage thresholds get decisions based on your application, prescription records, driving history, and other available information, without a medical exam. Many approvals happen the same business day. Every quote here notes whether that carrier will require, might require, or won't require an exam for that particular product.
What it changes
No-exam underwriting does not mean no underwriting. Your responses get verified. If a policy is issued based on wrong information, the carrier can challenge it within the first two years. The carrier may request testing or an exam if their records turn up something worth investigating. You can then choose to move forward or not.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants younger than around 60 seeking coverage up to what each carrier allows for expedited review, with no serious health issues and no tobacco use for at least the past year, qualify. Certain carriers will substitute recent lab results from your doctor instead of requiring a new exam.
If an exam becomes part of your underwriting, a paramedical specialist will typically come to your home or office in the Diamond Bar area for 20 to 30 minutes at zero cost to you. Healthy applicants frequently get better rate assignments from exam results, so it's not necessarily a negative.
